Let's play a game. We did a thread similar to this several months ago, and it was interresting to see every one's responses. The newly announced color v60 got me thinking about it again. What would your dream phone be? What features would you have? I'll start: A motorola, v60 form factor, with metal housing. 262k color screen, similar in size to vx6000 screen. (must be larger than color v60 screen) Current motorola user interface (similar to T7whatever models) NO BUGS. Stub antenna. 2 line external screen, OLED. (similar to vx6000) Lithium Polymer battery (more capacity than Lithium Ion). Integrated camera with flash (placed in similar fashion to v600 camera) MMS with full suite of features (Pix messaging, ability to download MIDI files as ringtones, etc.) Polyphonic audio. Support for MP3 files as ringers. Intergrated speakerphone (a la v60p) Push to talk. Voice dialing/commands/digit dialing (similar to v60ti color) BREW 2.0 (BREW over 1X) Come to think of it, 1X EV-DO would be nice. (supports streaming video) Built in Bluetooth. GPS. NO BUGS. Qualcomm chipset supporting CDMA and GSM for world roaming. No analog, since everything else will be taking up alot of space. (all digital works fine for me anyways) Integrated into the MMS, a program that detects pictures of @rses and deletes them before they infect your phone. Similar to a computer's virus detection software. (I call it the "Yellomunky stopper") I guess that's it for now. A bit unreasonable, I know, but still, one can dream. Will add more as I think about it. Anyone else care to share? |

V60p that gets crystal clear reception on regular and PTT calls, regardless of location, with a battery that lasts 48 hours with moderate to heavy usage.

Ceno almost covered everything. Iwould like to add to Ceno's phone becuse I still miss the style and feel of the V60. So I will borrow from bonoriffic's phone- and add MP3 player/memory card option to Ceno's phone. That is a definate for me. I would mainly use this function at work so setting a car battery next to my desk wouldn't be all that bad Oh yeah and I don't know if it has been mentioned yet but NO BUGSlol |

I'm a little easier to appease: v8160 with: Quad band (800AMPS/800/1900Digital/800GSM) 262k color screen 1x and Get It Now Capable Polyphonic ringers One week standby Stub antenna I deal without the exterior screen so I don't have to worry about scratching it. And lets not forget a holster that doesn't treat the phone like a projectile. It's been a long time since I saw a holster that was halfway decent. I like the holster from the v8160 where the phone faces in or the holster from the Startac My vx6000 is almost perfect, but I got woken up in the middle of the night by my drunken friend and the earpiece almost blew out my eardrum.

If it wasn't mentioned: built in speaker phone AND a male USB adapter slides out...you plug it into a PC, and you got a 256 mega byte jump drive....able to hold 256 megs of MP3s, Word docs, porn, whatever your heart desires. a holster very similar to the old Startac....that was a great setup.

djtonye- Yes, CDMA, with GSM roaming (Qualcomm is testing chips that do this right now.) CWick- Yup, I got the integrated speakerphone. As for a holster, I would use one similar to the v60, front facing, just without it sticking out so far, a little more flush with my body. | |

I hear that, I must have scratched my phone into everything and anything....I especially hate that "white" mark from the edge of the doorways-that stuff gets on everything and never comes off.......Just my 2 cents.

The phones get manufactured by oompa loompas in a third world country. Motorola pays them in jelly beans, so the manufacturing costs are lower. Plus, the parts are made of recycled materials (soda cans, rubber bands, old v60c's...) so the costs there are lower too, thus allowing the phones to be sold dirt cheap to Verizon (or other carriers) so Verizon does not have to enforce a contract to recoup any costs. See, I got this thing figured out perfectly. |

Okay, how about we just start implanting the phones into our bodies, the display can be attached to our optical nerve so it can be as many colors as you want and as large, same with the speakerphone, right in the ear so your conversations are private....of course finding a suitable place for the PTT button could be difficult, but the silent alert should be pretty easy to place. Your guess is as good as mine as to where to put the antenna. |

That's just plain silly... Actually though, did you ever see that "bluetooth body network" concept between Motorola and Frog inc? It was a pair of sunglasses with built in display for the phone and ear bud for the speaker, clip on PTT button and microphone, wrist mounted "phone unit" that stored all the info, and some sort of bluetooth pen that had something to do with it all. It was a pretty cool idea. The drawback was that it was being developed only for iDen. And I don't want to guess where the antenna goes. |

Stubby and as wide as the V60p's, but as long as the old Metal cordless phone antennas, for added clarity and coverage area wherever you may be.

Yeah, that would be nice, but then the wait time to get help at a Verizon store would be even longer than the already ridiculous wait time since they'd be busy implanting antennas into people's spinal columns all day.

Nahh, I'm sure engineers could figure out a way for *228 to work for the installation.

I was thinking of putting of putting in a spherical antenna into my scrotum. That would be fun just for the looks in the sack.

I just typed a reply and apparently, the word "Alpha Romeo Sierra Echo" is now on the restricted list. Will we be regulated to the point of Tom Green and have to say "Dangit! Yello Bum-Bum'd me again!" Hope you guys know Military Phonetic Spelling. |

Yeah, it's kinda retarded that they put @rsed on the forbidden list. We were forced to use that word because the real word was forbidden, now they've forbidden the place word we've used. One of the Mods must be a republican... Hey Delta, welcome back, Haus!! |

Sup, Yello? Fo Shizzle... IMO, @rse isn't a real word anyway. Another year on here and you will see warnings like this: THERE IS A RESTRICTED WORD IN YOUR POST, PLEASE USE THE BACK BUTTON AND CHANGE IT. Hey guys, Yello sent me a picture of his Flargenooben again!! |
