The V60p's battery life should increase since the PTT registration time is increased to every 15 mins from 5 mins. This will give a 35% increase in standby time. Verizon Wireless implemented this change last Friday (sep 12th). This phone rocks and it has better sound than the iDens |

Yes, I'm curious as to your source of information, since I have not heard anything inside the company to indicate this. DannyLee- updating the PRL won't effect your phone's PTT performance, but it's a good idea to do it every few months anyway. |

This is merely anecdotal, and does not add credence to Phone Guru's statement, but I have definitely notice improved battery life (still not great or even good yet)

I've noticed improvement as well. Just haven't seen anything official saying the registration time was increased.

Any word on if the v60p's ERI is working correctly? Just wondering cause when I had mine that first week I could never get the ERI to work.

It went into effect last friday and if u check ur current drain during the PTTregistration u will notice it goes up to 240mA and it occurs like every 14-15 mins. The info is true and credible. To convince your self just check it for ur self. |

It's actually "enhanced roaming indicator". It's the banner on the screen of the phone that says either "Verizon Wireless", "Entended Network", or "Roaming" depending on who's network you're picking up.

Close. It's Preferred Roaming List. But yeah, it basically prioritizes which networks your phone can roam on.

Well, I emailed VZW about the change in registration time to the PTT server every 15 minutes. The response is vague but it looks like there has NOT been a change to every 15 minutes. Here's there response Hello: Thank you for contacting the Verizon Wireless website. We are sorry to learn that you are having difficulty with your Push To Talk service. As part of our Worry Free Guarantee, your concern becomes our concern the first time you contact us. We would be happy to assist you with your question. We are sorry, but at this time, we do not offer a way to change the time that your phone registers with the Push To Talk server. We apologize for the inconvenience. If you have further questions or concerns, please contact us anytime through e-mail using the address of wirelessdata@verizonwireless.com. We appreciate your business and thank you for choosing Verizon Wireless. Sincerely, Kirk Verizon Wireless Wireless Data Technical Support ORIGINAL Message Body: There is a rumor going around that the V60p now registers with the PTT server every 15 minutes (as opposed to every 5 minutes) to improve battery life. Any truth to this rumor. If not, what is VZW doing about the horrible battery life of this phone? |

WOW, but the responses from Verizon Wireless are sooooo horrible, but I only think that because it's a big legality issue over what they say......Gee ya got to love those corporate folks and "their ways" because they will always be beating around the bush and not answer your question directly with just a simple yes or no. If you guys know what I mean.
