You don't need that website to PTT. I have been doing it all day.

Don't you 'initially' have to setup your account there?

No. You can PTT from your phonebook.

BUT.....

Most of NJ and Philadelphia proper, including my area, is having a PTT outage. The server is failing "Inverted 1X" authentication.

Apparently, the recent power outages have screwed with the....what do you call it..."Enhanced features" stuff. I had the invert 1X problem at first, but they fixed it.

The website is back up and running, and working as it should. Makes things much easier.

With Nextel you have to add contacts through customer care if I'm not mistaking.

Not true. To set up contacts with nextel, you enter in a specif 6-8 digit id # under the "squeeze and speak" setup on your actual handset. Kind of like enterring a phone book entry twice, once for the cellular # and once for ptt extension. At least that is how it was 2 years ago.

It's back up in Philly since 8PM last night. Call CS and make sure the PTT transmission feature is on your account.

Actually..what he means is, with Nextel you have to call CS to set up Group Lists...whereas on VZW you can do it on the website
