I used it recently. So far there isn't a charge on my statement. I don't think there will be one.

I have been told that the service is free and there is no limit to the number of times you may use it.

I use it at least twice a week to activate an old phone for the weekend. All that is needed is your ESN and phone model. Everything has worked great and there is little or no turn around time. It is too easy to be a phone-whore these days.

That's sounds cool. I never knew you could do that online
So does that mean you can buy a phone, off Ebay let's say, and go online to activate it under your account?

Ya, whatever!!
I can't find anything of the sort on the VZW website. Am I missing something? Can anyone post a direct link? Is this service is offered in all areas? It doesn't show up under my zip.

rallykid, I love your new icon LOL!!

You may have to sign up for a VZserve account, or call Verizon and ask them if it is in your area... Is there a login My Account at the top of the page?

You have to log into your account through vzserve to get access to it.

OohOoh - Thanks, I stole it from another site I frequent. I have a few holding signs like that, but none that wouldn't get me banned here

It figured Verizon adds this feature after I leave. LOL.

Sprint has offered online activation for 3 years or so. Maybe Verizon is just about done actually centralizing operations under one system. Cool!

Craptain: I'm curious though, does VZServe here in Columbus still run off of airtouch.com?

Online activation only works in certain markets right now, it should be available in all markets on the Vision billing system by Sept. 1st.

Oh great, just one more date that will be pushed back again. I wonder how many desk planners a Verizon exec goes through per year? I guess thats why so many people use Outlook.

LOL, nah, Sept 1 is fine with me.

I always thought it was funny that Verizon's billing system (even though it was probably written by a 3rd party) has the same name as Sprint's data service. I think one or the other should sue. If Nextel can do it, why not?

Yeah, that's true. They probably would want to keep the domain forever anyway...or some porn site will take it over. What I mean was when you do online bill stuff here the site is airtouch.com, so that was why I could never get it to work because the cookies were froma 3rd party site and I had not added airtouch to my "ok" list.

Are you really gonna get a 270c? I didn't know you used to have one.

Yeah, to be honest... My old 270 was my Mom's phone I know I used it more than her and I really thought it was a great phone.

Looks like Verizon changed their website. Now it is called "Change ESN."

Makes more sense to me.
