T720 --> T725 conversion Review

Okay so i saw a thread on here a few days ago for the T725 faceplate and some were wondering about its compatibility....
I ordered the purple raindrop faceplate and it arrived to day. I was very thrilled to get this faceplate because it jazzes up the looks of the T720. It was boring before but with the new faceplate I got a lot of compliments. It makes it look like a totally different phone. Insallation was a breeze. I took a dime and used it to pry off the original cover and then took a butterknife and began to pry the lcd cover off (right at the bottom of the lcd cover) After taking it off i quickly put the new cover on to avoid any dust that could accumulate under the screen. Then I snapped on the new back battery and that was it. Took about one minute. I got it off of ebay...with the buy it now option I paid $2 and with shipping it was $7. Im definatly going to have to post pictures of my phone but here is what the faceplate i got looks like.

wow sounds good blue.......i ordered a blue metallic one off ebay that should be here within the week. Are you saying that the T725 faceplates replace the silver metal thing around the LCD?? (sorry about the vague description). That would be great considering it would get rid of the scratches on it from when i dropped it [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img] i agree tho that the new faceplates make your phone look pretty cool.

Yes they do! I already ordered some off ebay useing Buy It Now! I just hope when i take of the grey inner cover around the outter lcd no dust gets under there. I have not a SINGLE speck of dust under my screen( many 720 users seem to complain of this) so id hate for it to start now.

your lucky cause once its under there its a pain to get out.

I know!! My wife and I have been VERY lucky with out 720s. Weve had NO serious problems with our phones at all. Thats why i dont understrand why so many complain and have issues with thier 720s. Its been one fo the best phones I have ever had so far, but I think my Timeport 270C was a tad better.

The grey lcd plate with the verizon logo on it gets taken off...its really easy to do but just be ready to swap with the new plate in order to avoid getting any more dust under the lcd screen. I forgot to mention that the new face covers have a screen cover over that square hole for the LCD. I hope that you guys get your soon...

hmm still haven't gotten my new faceplate but it SHOULD be here soon. One more question for you blue, will this new faceplate still let the phone fit in the original rotating holster that came with the T720. I hope the T725 faceplate doesn't make it any fatter so the phone wouldn't be able to fit in its holster thingy. It wouldn't kill me if it didn't but sometimes that holster and clip come in handy if you don't have a pocket for your phone...............

I am not too sure if it will fit but if i were to guess i would say yes...the back battery cover sticks out just a little more and it should fit...the next thing im going to get is the flashing battery...its got a dragon design on the back cover that flashes...i'll post pictures later.
