Default V60c Debug Mode Causing Distortion???

Got a new V60c a little while ago. Worked great for a couple days, then tried the Debug mode where it can sit idle in the background till you press MENU Left soft key. After having that on for a day or so and a low battery (not sure if that had anything to do with it) every call was distorted. My voice and the callers voice on both incoming and outgoing calls. It sounded robotic or as I described it to a friend, a farting noise. Very hard to explain the sound but has anyone experienced this? I turned off the debug mode and it has been fine for a couple days. Just curious whether I have to send it away. Thanks for any help.
