Default Motorola Classic "BRICK" analog cell phone, new in box, good/bad deal? Need advice!

I'm thinking about getting one of these brick phones.
(not for actual use, but for my collection of cell phones)

.

MOTOROLA CLASSIC II CELL PHONE / "BRICK" NEW
$24.99
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3016780497

Having never used or bought one of these, would someone
please tell me if this auction on Ebay is a good or bad deal?
My previous auction experience was on Yahoo's auction site.
Is Ebay pretty much the same?

the auction says it's a 3-watt phone... is this correct? I thought these big analog
phones are supposed to be 1.2 or 1.5-watt. (compared to a 0.6-watt flip phon,
or the "bag phone / installed phone" which is 3-watt)

the seller appears to be in Florida... Is it safe to
get stuff from there? The guy has a perfect rating, but still.... ?

are there other companies on the web that sell these surplus/unused brick phones?
Where can I find these companies?

Thanks for any advice....

if you do decide to buy this phone, use PayPal, don't send check, cashiers check or money order. Pay Pal is tied in with your credit card so there is a greater level of protection in case the phone isn't as described. with other forms of payment, once the seller has it, they may disappear with the money and never send you the item, or send you a broken, stolen, useles, etc item. i've bought many things on ebay and never had a problem but it's always good to be safe than sorry.

Most all old phones ( pre digital ) are 3 watt. Only a few exceptions, but as far as what your looking at it is 3 watt.

Man I wanted that phone... < $40 seems like a steal to me.

I would be the envy of ALL of my friends Just imagine the looks!

I did see a guy yesterday with the old starTAC 3W flip phone on his belt. I was in awe

Craptain, I'd love to see you walk into a Verizon store and ask them to activate that bad boy!

I am now in search of one at a reasonable price If you see one let me know... I was thinking of recording me trying to get it activated.

In my search I found THIS picture... wasn't there someone here that had one of those things as an icon?

Craptain...exactly what were typing into your search that you came up with that??

You definitely need to make a recording if you try to activate that phone...and go to the Reynoldsburg store first.
