Angry Help with HS850 Please!!!!

Hello all,

I recently purchased a Motorolla HS850 for use with my Blackberry 7290. Here is the problrm - I can't seeem to get my 8250 to produce a solid blue light. *** soon as I push the MFB it starts flashing like its in standby. I have tried it with the boom open and closed but nothing. I also tried holding for 5 min but still all it would do was flash?

Anyone experience this problem?

Chris

Here's how it should work. From power off you should hold in the MFB for about 10 seconds. Don't release it until the light is on steady. You cannot go into pairing mode from a power on state, only off.

Let me know how it works out for you.

Hi Jay,

No dice. I hold the MFB and the light briefly comes on then goes off. It continues to pulse at 3 second intervals.

Any thoughts?

It pulses while you're holding the button? Here's the scenerio as it should happen:
  • Start w/ power off (Best way to make sure you are off is to plug the headset into the charger for 1 minute, then unplug & wait 10 seconds before continuing.)
  • Press & hold MFB. DO NOT RELEASE YET.
  • light will flash quickly a few times to indicate power on. (Still holding MFB)
  • After a few more seconds of holding the MFB the light should glow steady.
  • Once the light is on steady you may release the MFB and pair with your phone.

Sorry to be butting in but, Canuck what OS version do you have in your Blackberry? I think if it is older that V4, it is almost impossible to pair. You probably know this already but here is the V4 upgrade info.

I had the same problem. Now my HS850 pairs with BB 7290.. Here is what you have to do.....

To pair the phone requires pressing and holding the call button while the microphone is folded closed, then quickly opening it up once the blue LED comes on then put the phone in discoverable mode and search for the headset. If a pairing code is asked for then enter 0000 to complete the pairing process.
