I'm trying to pair my HS850 with my RAZR V3 (both new) following directions in the phone and headset manual and also what is in the consumer support website but with no success. The bluetooth is "on" in the phone and the blue light is steady on the head set. When the phone searches for a bluetooth device, it cannot detect the headset even though they are just inches apart. I doubt these devices are incompatible since they are both Motorola. I do have a wireless network at home and I'm not sure if that is interferring with the setup process. I'm not sure if either the phone or headset is defective because they are both new. Also, I have no way of knowing which one is a dud ! Outdated software maybe ? RAZR V3 S/W : R374_G_0E.42.0CR What I'm I doing wrong ? |

You are correct that wireless networks (And cordless phones) use the same bandwidth that bluetooth devices use. I would take the pair to an area where you are not in range of wireless lans & cordless phones. The middle of an empty parking lot comes to mind. Also be sure that you select Settings/Connection/Bluetooth Link/Handsfree/[Look For Devices]. A mistake I made when I first got my bluetooth headset was to select "Find Me". Give this a shot first. If it still doesn't work I'd exchange the headset. I've seen bad headsets before, but I've never seen the BT go bad on a phone before. -Jay

Turn your phone off then on and try pairing them again....
