For some reason, my voice mail notification icon will not turn off. I tried to manually turn it off via one of the options on the phone, and then turned it back on. It still remains on. Any help? Thanks!

That happened to me a few times and here are the various steps I took to resolve it when it did:

Called my cell number from a landline and accessed voicemail. From there, I was able to delete the mystery message.

If you are a Verizon customer, call *226 and ask the technician to reset your VM. For some reason, an old, previously deleted message was caught in the system.

Also, if you are out of your native coverage area, sometimes the message system won't recognize that you've deleted the message.

If all of this fails, you may want to try removing your battery for a few minutes and reinstalling. Sometimes this can help if the phone is "confused".
