This just started happening today. When I try and connect the phone, V3, via its data cable the phone is not recognized on any program I try, MPT, P2KTools, PST, P2KMan or MotoKit, I get "phone not connected" on all of them. When I plug the data cable in initally the screen does light up and it does go into the charging mode but I can't get any program to see the phone. Any ideas? -- rg56 |

What I left out, if it means anything, is that the BT connectiion works fine with my BT PC dongle. -- rg56

Who knows, maybe I caused this problem somewhere down the line. I think I am going to break out my pristine 551 for a while and get RAZR off my mind for a while. It does have something the RAZR doesn't, EDGE, so I'll use it for a while. Thanks again. -- rg56

I had to update this problem because I finally got it fixed and maybe it will help someone else with the same problem. I also have to give all the credit to Motorola Software Support. They pointed me in the right direction and stayed with me on the phone until it was resolved. The problem is actually a short story, I just couldn't figure out where to look. The reason why my phone wasn't being seen by any of the programs was because there were multiple Motorola USB Modems installed on my PC. How they got there, I probably could blame myself for too much tinkering. All I had to do was go into control panel>phone and modem settings and remove all the Motorola USB Modems entered. Then to device manager and remove any Motorola Modem entries there also. Reboot and start up MPT's and start a new profile. Bingo, the phone was recognized immediately. Since all the other programs, ie., PST, all depend on the Motorola USB Modem to work is the reason why all the other programs didn't recognize the phone either, now they all do. The solution always sounds simple after the fact but this problem was driving me nuts. If I called Motorola Support sooner it would of been fixed sooner, so I give all the credit to them. -- rg56
