Hello neighbor, welcome to WA.

I am not sure I understand your need for tri-band, could you please explain?

Thanks Much!

in Chicago, Philly, Madison, and a few other cities, cricket is AWS, you need a tri band phone in order to get it activated, the original moto q is not tri band, so it wont work or cant be activated by cricket , here in chicago, If you are in an AWS market you can NOT flash a phone to Cricket. You must use a Cricket or MetroPCS device. I really want to get this phone working, and was looking forward to taking advantage of crickets $45 plan, I looked at Verizon plans and they seem too expensive compared to cricket,

so I was wondering what other provider, if any, can I use this phone with, besides verizon and cricket of course,

Hometown wireless company US Cellular, of course! Remember, they were the ones who bought the PrimeCo PCS system that Cellco Partnership (VZW) couldn't keep and had to divest.

I believe USCC got the 1900 spectrum & Verizon the 850 from Prime Co in IL; opposite of WI.

If Prime Co's PCS spectrum in IL is as terrible as it is in WI, I wouldn't go with USCC in Chicago, Verizon would be a much better choice.

Don't you agree?

Living in Memphis, I have no direct knowledge. USCC is an available CDMA carrier, and offers the Motorola Q 9c. Close enough? I don't know.

Absolutely close enough & gives the OP the option they were looking for.

I was merely giving my editorial, having spent 4+ frustrating years w/Verizon

I recall your complaints of VZW's 1900 MHz PCS in the land of US Cellular's 850 MHz cellular more complete coverage.
