Okay folks, looks like its time for some people here at work to make the leap. Now that both devices have some mileage on them what's the score? The only real differences that I can see now that Palm has upped the memory to 64mb on the 700 is that it doesn't have WiFi (if that's an issue for the user) ,the 700 has GPS capability, and the XV doesn't come with voice dial. VZW doesn't kill the WiFi do they? Here in the woods of NH I'm mostly concerned about reception so I'm interested to hear what real users have to say.......I believe the XV has Analog?? It may be a help in the next 1-2 yrs until all the towers get converted to digital only. I appreciate any help you guys can offer. THANKS!! |

6800 will be out in a month. I just held the demo in the store. It has wm6 and is really light. Nice keyboard.

I've been using the XV6700 since January 07. I love it. It's by far the best device I've used for voice and data. I have gone through several other in the past including the Thera, Samsung 730, Palm 650. I got a chance to play around with the XV6800 recently. Its real nice. My only problem is the Windows Mobile 6. I like 5 because its proven. I have no bugs or problems with it. WM6 hasnt been around all that long and before I go switching to the 6800, i want about six months to go by so i can read some real reviews on the software and device. |

WM6 is stable, the quirks and bugs it has are similar to those that WM5 has, however, if you chose a WM5 device that has no upgrade path (6700) you're putting yourself in a position to where you have no real progression to new Apps. What's worse is there are several enhancements in WM6 regarding performance, stability, and useability. Trust me wait for the 6800, the hardware upgrades alone are worth the wait. In regards to Kranium's post, no offense man, but WM6 has been out for over 6 months, it's just now finally getting adopted into the American market, mainly due to slow adoption of new technologies by our carriers.
