Default Treo 750v Review

PALM'S BEST***This One Has Earned a 5!!!!!!
by Steven2420

This will not be another long ponderous review, as I have submitted before. In addition, I again waited over a week to do this review after buying this phone. Purchased from Cellular Concepts in Florida, (Another Awesome and Honest Company), this device is a must have for professionals.

PROS:

Great form factor, smaller and lighter then Treo 650
Great rubber finish on the sides and back for outstanding grip
MS Office programs are a must have for a professional, and are very efficient and functional on this device
Stereo sound is clear and loud
Bluetooth sync is a breeze
Screen is bright and very vivid, great color
No external antenna!!!!
Keyboard is very well lit and raised buttons are very easy to use
Each button on D-Pad has a distinct and very firm click when pressed
RF is great, using Cingular 3G in Miami, Fl
Browser is very fast, (Not as fast as TyTn, but very fast) 3G is awesome and fast
Volume loud, speaker-phone very loud
Button layout is easy to get used to, side keys are perfectly placed
Palm Style with WM5 OS is a phenomenal combination---VERY SMART

CONS:

No WiFi-**Not worth deducting any points for!
Palm's proprietary sync port and charging port--Someday, they will all be some type of USB I hope
**Pricey**but so is everything that has quality like this!!!

Summary:

Great device for the professional, I recommend this phone 100%!!!!

Winner of the 5 Clap Award!!

Treo & WM5 claim another victim.

Thanks for the review, I knew you would like it.

Steve--
How did you get your phone to work on Cingular if they don't sell it? I am on Cingular now and the 750v sounds like it's right up my alley.

Thanks!

He bought it directly from either Palm or from someone who got it directly from Palm. Cingular and T-mobile utilize GSM which means all your service information is stored on a subscriber information module (SIM) as long as your device isn't *locked* to one subscriber you can use any GSM carrier with your device.

That's true but he would have had to enter the settings for MediaNet and MMS from the Cingular site. Ofcourse this is not a big deal but it would still have to be done.

I like how T-Mobile sends all the settings OTA to your phone from their configurator....

Steven, I am very glad that you are so happy with the Treo, it really does sound like a fantastic device.

PS: Please note that I am restraining myself from asking you let me know before you put it on E-Bay in another 2 weeks............

Actually, I think cingular has an OTA configurator now as well. At the very least CSR's can send you settings OTA for MediaNet and the like.

Thanks Shawn, could not have said it better myself!! And Charlyee is correct, I did input all the GPRS and MMS settings myself. I have done it so many times, I could do it in my sleep!

I'm on no one side, just observing!

If I had more money (PDA/smartphones aren't cheap) & still on GSM I would be swapping fool, like I was a couple of years back.

And Steve, thanks for the heads up. With a title like that I will be able to get both devices chaep.

This is a phenominal hack that will absolutely give you HSDPA speeds on your Treo 750. My Treo is getting over 1024kbs after this was done.
