Question for you, can you get the "Notes" to Sync, there is some rumor floating around that it is greyed out.

So in your opinion, was it worth it & what do you see as the essential benefits.

Thanks Much
The notes still do not sync OTA. You can do it via tethering, but I refuse to use Craptivesync on the computer.

WM6 is MUCH better IMHO than 5. You won't see a lot of
changes to the UI, but it defintiely will give you some added stability, speeds that are at least 2 times as fast (thanks to HSDPA) and overall more robust. Example, Office Mobile 6.1 comes included that gives you access to view and edit docx, xlsx and pptx files that are created in Office 2007.

Overall, worth the pain of having to wipe the device and start over. I'm definitely happy, and that is hard to do with me!

Thanks again AZ, it is the HSDPA speeds that are tempting me big time. Another question for you, I can use the SD card that I have in it now, right? It should still read an "executable" file although it has other stuff on it.

Go back to the link a few posts ago, there are VERY specific instructions. The card has to be formatted in FAT-32, I guess it doesn't work in FAT-16. Also, once the file is downloaded to yoru desktop, you need to unzip it and copy 3 files over to the mini-SD card. Once you put that FAT-32 formatted card into the Treo with the 3 files on it, the update starts automatically.

Got it, thanks. I did unzip and am ready to go, but I guess I missed the FAT-32 part, ok so I need a new mini SD card.

Thanks much AZ

PS: As long as we are on the Treo 750 subject, I have 2 more questions:

1. How do I access the FieldTest menu on it, none of the HTC codes seem to work?
2. Is there a hack to read provider information from the network instead of the SIM card while in the US?

Thanks again..

I definitely think the upgrade is worth it. Check out Mobility Today's coverage of it to see what is all included! Pretty decent for a free upgrade if you ask me!

For field test: Look in My Device/Windows for a program called Field Test. If you don't have it I'll try to copy it from my Tilt and see if it will work for you.

If you find out how to read provider info from the network let me know.

Nope not there, in my Blackjack it was there & was called "Test". I asked on the XDA forums & didn't get any replies

That's sad. The attached ZIP file should help cheer you up. It's copied from my at&t branded HTC Tilt, WM 6. [and of course I'm uploading it with the Tilt as well.]

Sometimes the exe is in the Windows folder. Just tap it to open, or make a link to it in the programs folder.

Hi budney, I have 19.44 MB left. I am trying to figure a way to get rid of some of the at&t junk that I will never use, without changing the cappackage. Do you have any suggestions?

19.44 left that's it! How much did you have with WM5? I would wait a few weeks and see what XDA Developers can do with this new ROM. I don't know anything that would help. I ran my 700wx stock because of the way Palm packaged up the ROM, no one yet could hack it. But I had almost doube the program memory on mine.

Can you do a custom rom on the phone or is that only out for palm os users?

The 750 Charlyee has runs WM5/6, not the Palm OS. I don't think they have cracked the installer method palm uses to make custom ROMS yet. But with this WM6 update it should give them something good to work with.

Google Maps

Google Maps with GPRS locator feature. It triangulates your location using cell towers to give you an approximate (within 2000 yards) location. Pretty handy!

I went ahead and removed the capackage and re-installed all my programs and now I have 26.06 MB. The speed is noticeable faster. I do miss the at&t theme, it was much more vibrant than any I have found so far.

PS: Sorry I don't remember how much I had with the WM5.

That's better, but not as nice as my 40MB on my 700wx.

I will try to look around, and see if some one extracted the AT&T theme from the package.

And to get this thread back on track a little. Here are a couple of great programs I use/used and like a lot.

SPB Pocket Plus 4.0 - $29.95 This new version has mutliple plugins per tab, and you can mix shortcuts and plugins in each tab. Also has a lot more new features. Give the trial period a good work out, its well worth the price.

Spb Pocket Plus - Pocket PC Products - Spb Software House

QuickMenu - Free! This little app replaces your start menu with a cascading menu like in Wisbar Lite/Advance. Included with this menu you get a task manger, BT connection settings, and many more features in this highly customizable menu.

QuickMenu v2.7 freeware for Pocket PC windows mobile and wm5 or wm6 ppc, PocketPC free downloads.

That got me to thinking and I checked my Tilt. I have 59.81 mb free in storage, and 58.05 free in program. I have a lot installed on the Tilt, but I always make a point to install everything possible to the storage card.

Also, what all is included in this file? I assume there are various AT&T shortcuts, but there have to be other things as well, yes?

Here are a couple of my favorites:

msgled - the LED flashes with new notification.

pmClean - simple cleanup tool.

Just loaded pmclean, that looks like a great program. I like having everything cleared out on a regular basis. Add to that the automatic soft reset every day and I am happy!

I'll check out the other link on un-installing the AT&T stuff when I have some time later.

Thanks!

After some really frustrating hours, I uninstalled pmclean. For some reason, it kept soft resetting the phone...over...and over....and over....and over....and wouldn't let me get to the today screen. I was about 2 minutes away from hard resetting the device. Anyone else experience this?

budney, I just downloaded it. It is great thank you. I like how I can go directly into my favorites without having to go to Media Net Home page first.

AZ, Sorry I have not had any problems, it worked with the WM5, WM6, and now with the WM6 with the CapPackage removed. You don't happen to have another program that is conflicting with it, do you?

Here is another one of my favorites.

EzQuote - for tracking the Stock Market
