In the FTP map of hp (SP31501-32000) new release romupdate 1.21 ftp://ftp.compaq.com/pub/softpaq/sp31501-32000/ sp31952!! HP iPAQ hw6500 Mobile Messenger Series ROM Update VERSION: 1.21 DESCRIPTION: This package contains the ROM Update Utility (RUU) and ROM image for the following HP iPAQ hw6500 Series Mobile Messengers: - HP iPAQ hw6510c Mobile Messenger - HP iPAQ hw6515c Mobile Messenger - HP iPAQ hw6510d Mobile Messenger - HP iPAQ hw6515d Mobile Messenger - HP iPAQ hw6515e Mobile Messenger - HP iPAQ hw6515f Mobile Messenger NOTE: Confirming the HP iPAQ model ID number before starting to download and install this software package helps to prevent system errors. Use either of the following two methods to confirm your HP iPAQ model ID: Method 1: Power On the HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger and tap Start, then tap Settings, then tap the System tab, then tap HP Asset Viewer, and then tap the System tab. Method 2: With the HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger Powered Off, remove the battery cover and the battery. The model ID number is printed on a sticker that is located under the battery. Be sure to reinsert the battery promptly to avoid data loss. Before proceeding, ensure that this software package supports the model ID identified for your HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger. IMPORTANT: The RUU is designed to replace the current ROM image and to erase the partnership and all user data and programs on the HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger. It is important to read and understand the information in the Readme file included with this update BEFORE installing the software package. Use ActiveSync to synchronize your personal calendar, contacts, e-mail, tasks, and notes data with Microsoft Outlook on a desktop to save this information before performing the ROM update. After completing the ROM update, establish a new ActiveSync partnership with the desktop. The HP iPAQ Mobile Messenger synchronizes your personal data from Microsoft Outlook. Reinstall any user-installed software programs and additional personal data, if necessary. NOTE: Due to changes in the registry and system files introduced by the new ROM, the new ROM will not recognize a backup file that is generated using the previous ROM. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PURPOSE: Recommended SOFTPAQ NUMBER: sp31952 SUPERSEDES: sp31927, sp31757 EFFECTIVE DATE: 26 May 2006 CATEGORY: BIOS SSM SUPPORTED: No PRODUCT TYPE(S): Handhelds HARDWARE PRODUCT MODEL(S): HP iPAQ hw6510c Mobile Messenger HP iPAQ hw6515c Mobile Messenger HP iPAQ hw6510d Mobile Messenger HP iPAQ hw6515d Mobile Messenger HP iPAQ hw6515e Mobile Messenger HP iPAQ hw6515f Mobile Messenger OPERATING SYSTEM(S): Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 SE - Pocket PC Phone Edition

WOW! Looks like this update fixes a few key faults. I would be scared seeing this after just purchasing this device.

It sounds like what the new 6700 ROM update did for my device. It made a very good device into a awesome device.

Quite a few of these devices are used by my field techs and they're having hard reset problems, power-cycling during phone calls, data corruption, etc. and I can't find a fix for them. Any suggestions? TIA. Michael Stelly Video Gaming Technologies, Inc. | |

AZ is correct, I just installed the beta 1.21.32, and my device took off like a rocket. The ROM update will fix all your problems. Good luck Michael!
