LG 5350 will not turn on

Hello,

was hoping someone may be able to help. I have an LG 5350 phone I recently pulled it out of my pocket while it was opened and the flip top slightly broke off a tiny bit of the plastic off one side of the hindge. However it seems like just a minor cosmetic chip of plastic broke off the hinge, and it opens and closes fine.

If I charge my phone with a new battery I recently purchased in its original cradle, I eventually show a green light indicating battery is charged, however, it will not turn on when I press the END button which turns it on.

My question is maybe a wire in the hinge that may have been severed when the flip top was pulled?

If I remove the back with a TORX #6 srewdriver, will this show the wires, how can I view the wires inside the hinges to see if they are ok?

Are there any checks I can look at to see what may be wrong, as I still have information on this phone that I would not like to lose.
