Default VX8300: Major Problem, Phone won't get past splashscreen on startup

I have had my LG VX8300 from Verizon for over a year and for the last couple of weeks it has been giving me some problems when charging. When I plugged it in to charge, it would start charging and then turn itself off or reboot itself. Sometime it would right away or sometimes it would charge for an hour or so before it would happen.

Then just two nights ago, I was going though my recorded sounds and the phone just turned off. When I tried to turn it back on, it displayed the "Verizon Wireless" splashscreen for about 10 seconds, then went black for about a second, and then showed the splashscreen again for another 10 seconds, and repeated this on and on. It still is doing this now... The only way to get it to stop repeating the splashscreen is to take the battery out.

This is what it looks like: http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/9678/screen1xy2.jpg

I have tried leaving the battery out for awhile, making sure it is charged, and even turning it on while plugged in with the battery out. Still the same problem.

The only other screen I can get to shows the Verizon logo, the LG logo, and then says "Downloading..." in yellow text, however, nothing happens and the phone just turns off and stays off after 60 seconds, only to start the whole problem over again.

This is the second screen: http://img527.imageshack.us/img527/5161/screen2gx4.jpg

I'm not sure what I am pressing to get to this screen, but while it was showing the Verizon splashscreen, I tried holding down different buttons to see if I could find some menu or something, and finally held them all down with my palm, and then it went to this "downloading" screen. I have tried to narrow it down to find which button brings it to this screen, but it seems to be a weird combination of buttons that seems to have been different each time.

Please help. I'm thinking my phone is just dead, but there is no reason that it should be other than just a malfunction. It has had no damage and hasn't been dropped or anything. I'm hoping there is something I can do because I still have more than 6 months before I get my next free phone from Verizon.

Thanks for any advice or help you can offer.

Its not going to just fix itself. If it were me I would let the senior tech at the Verizon store look at it. If its shot I would ask for a courtesy upgrade from the store manager. If that is not acceptable to them ask for a Factory Refurbished Unit ( FRU ) the charge should be $50.00 with that you won't have to extend the contract. Good Luck
