forgot LG 8500 chocolate security code...

can anybody help me. I changed my LG 8500 security code (usually it should be last 4 digits of ur phone number as per verizon.). I changed it to my own code. but now i've forgotten that code. so now its a big headache for me to change any setting because of that missing code. so is there any way that i can reset my security code. can anybody help me out.

Hi Rachit, welcome to WA.

You should be able to reset your LG 8500's lock code back to the last 4 digits of your wireless number by doing this:

Hit *22899 send (if this doesn't work, try *228 send, choose option #1) to re-program your phone.

Doing this will re-program your phone, and reset the default code. Once you hear the "your phone has been programed successfully" message, select OK. Your 8500 should go off and then back on again. ....... Now you can hit unlock, and enter the last 4 digits of your wireless number.

hi i tried both options but the screen was programming your phone. but after a time it told that "we're sorry we are unable to program your phone, please call verizon wireless from landline phone"

I'm sorry to hear that this didn't work for you. The only thing that I can think of that would make your phone unable to be reprogrammed, is if it is not acctivated......If the phone is active on the account, wait 10 minutes, and try the reprogramming option again.
If it doesn't work, and you have a Verizon corporate store in your area, bring your 8500 in and have one of the tech support reps. try to retrieve the code for you.

Hi there, any chance that your phone is on extended network or in a poor coverage area when you are trying to this? I cannot update PRL from my house for this reason.

Just a thought
