Default 8600 VM speed dial edit

I'd like to edit my speed dial entry for VM on the 8600 like I did previously with the 7000. Is this possible with the 8600 and I'm just being a bonehead about figuring it out?

I've changed the number one VM key on some of my other Verizon LG's too, but I haven't been able to change it so far on my enV. I'll post back with a reply if I do find a way. I'm sure if it is changeable on my phone it will work for yours as well.

This is strange. I fail to see how changing your speed dial key would be a security issue.

"if someone were to pick up your phone, they could access your voicemail"

yea, but what about the phone password security itself? wouldn't that protect the VM password?

"yes we have that too."

I believe the OP was referring to changing the VM number to incorporate the password and not just changing the speed dial key assigned to the VM number, atleast that's the way I inderstand it.

Well I guess you and I have a different understanding of things. Maybe the OP can clear things up.

You can edit the VM number on an LG 8600 (at least on the alltel AX8600).

Menu>Messaging>Settings>Edit Voicemail #

Of course, this is with the Alltel/LG firmware, I don't know if the Verzion LG 8600 has an LG firmware or Verizon's (in)famous "Red" GUI.

MOTOhooligan this doesn't work for Verizon's LG phones, I just tried it. Although the 8600 does have Verizon's standard UI, a customer isn't limited to the red bars that you are referring to here. All of the LG mobile handsets that were manufactured after the 8100 did come with a little more customization ability than other phones that are on Verizon's line up.

You were right Charlyee. Since the only thing that I have done with my past LG phones was to change the VM key, I thought that is what the OP was referring to here. Seems like neither of these things can be done anymore though.
