Default Re VX8300: Am I completely dense or...

is there no way to leave a quick recorded note to yourself? For years I'd leave a note to myself about where I just alternate-side parked the car (NYCers will appreciate it. Anyone else may not). The manual, which spends an innordinate amount of paper on features I could give a crap about, says nothing.

I've only had it for two days and I keep finding reasons for feeling it's an inferior experience to the cheap Audiovox 9900 it was to replace. Plus, there's apparently no way to interface the contacts with a computer, especially Macs. Am I wrong about that? Manual sez nada.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't know anyone who fiddles with getting music or videos into their phones, or subscribes to any phone-media service. A ringtone here and there, maybe. But where's the freakin' voice notes!! : )

Well I found the answer out in netsville. Hold down the "side key". Give memo. Why they'd not want to have this in either of the horrible manuals (along with the 79 other things they don't mention, such as how to switch it to mp3 compatible as well as wmv and send ringtone mp3s from your computer) is beyond me. Might return it anyway to get an actual phone instead of a phone and bad everything else that takes up so much of it.

My V3m is that way, too. Hold one of the side buttons for a sec/two and get the memo. If you hold it longer, you turn the speakerphone on/off.

Not bad, but glad they have accidental lock-key ___ntion (clr, *).
