I had a Nokia 3589i, but the sound quality was only adequate and the headset jack had some background noise when the volume was all the way up. My friend got her new-every-two thing, and wanted the 3589i, so I thought I would upgrade to a "better quality" phone by swapping with her - I got the LG VX4500. I live in a pretty poor reception area, and my Nokia was the first phone to not drop calls here (I had another phone before that), and unfortunately the 4500 is also dropping calls. So I'm going to have to take it back (I've already had it replaced once, it's the model of phone). Other than the 3589i, does anyone have any recommendations on what phone would get great reception and have good voice quality? |

Try the Audiovox 8900, great with RF, the camera is very poor but you do want a cell phone not a camera right?

If I was certain a 4400 would work, I would be all over it. But I can exchange my current phone for another one (the 15 day thing), and Verizon doesn't sell the 4400 any more. Tony E, I've been kind of avoiding the Audiovox's, because of my experience with the 8300. But do you have one? Do you live in a low signal area? |

I wrote a review of the reception on the phone at: http://www.howardforums.com/showthre...=2#post2986897 I will write a review, but I'm waiting until I have had the phone a bit longer. I'm still trying to decide for sure whether to keep it, or go back to the Nokia 3589i. Read my review for more info. |

Take it from me. The 4400 is a great phone, with one BIG downside. In a poor to marginal signal area, the reception is not too good.

I agree with you Tony, but the 4400 is just a little worse than the other two models that I had from Moto and Sharp.

I had the V60s and the reception was heinous. I also got clicking noises and sometimes an extra ring when I was connecting. I took it back and got the VX4400B and the batter life is about the same as the V60s, which is odd because the V60s does not have a color screen. I really like the VX4400B and as far as reception goes, I have had only 1-2 bars in the woods and I have had no problems placing or receiving calls. Just my 2 cents. The big downside of the LG is that the ring tones are beyond heinous. I really wish they would ban some of the tones they put in phones!
