Hi, my wife and I just switched from Sprint to Verizon (not sure if this is really a good thing yet) and we got ourselves a pair of LG VX440B phones. One of the biggest annoyances is that the universal headset jack does not seem to support the answer call/end call switch from a headset. Does anyone know if there is a particular headset that might work for this or did the designers just neglect to include the feature? I know the one touch answer button on the side of the phone will answer a call, but it will not exit a call or switch calls for call waiting. Seems to me that this is a liability waiting to happen as this makes the phone far from 'hands free' capable. The folks at a Verizon store did not know ifany of their phones actually would work with a headset. Any insights? Thanks. Des |

I was afraid that this was the case with this phone. I kind of like it otherwise. Though now I would consider it to be a grossly unsafe phone when in the car! We have untill Jan 3rd to trade them in for another phone. What others have the remote switch feature? Verizon's website is pretty useless (as was the fellow in the store yesterday) with this topic. Thanks in advance. |

the Motorola V60s was just released (not to be confused with the V60P), it has a very loud speakerphone option that can be useful when driving, but the phone has to be open to use this feature, and it also has the ability to auto-answer a call when a headset is connected, something to consider if you want safety, another phone with the speakerphone option is the Audiovox 8900. hope that helps.

Try the Samsung phones - the digital A530 and trimode A310 - both works with generic handsfree mic with answer on/off button, voice dialing - vital safety features for anyone driving with a cellphone anywhere. What does it take to get VZW to pay attention to this serious issue - a class action lawsuit? At times, I'm tempted to switch back to the A310 b/c trying to answer flip open the phone, hook the hansfree mic and listen to an incoming call while driving 65 mph is a real challenge - never mind checking the caller id - in a matter of seconds while the car is moving! Time to contact VZW's senior management on this LG issue - it's not just the VX6000, but also the VX4400 and the VX3100. They've better not release any newer LG phone(s) with this serious handicap. |

the Samsung phones are nice, but they ten to heat-up after talking for 20 minutes, but at least they will serve your purpose.
