| All of the images made with my VX6000 camera exhibit a darken area in the upper left hand portion of the photo. I can see the darkened area of the display as I am framing the subject in preparation to take the picture. Have any of you observed this defect? See typical darkening in upper left corner at Photo http://www.vzwpix.com/mlib/Navigate?...3dXtUA2B7vpp2N John |

| I have been very careful not to cover any part of the lens. I have taken about 50 photos and the darkening appears in all of them. I had made prints and will take them to the Verizon store today. |

| there are some cases where if you drop your phone it will damage or loosen some of the lens structure causing it to malfunction and give you pictures with a haze or glare on them.

| Tony, I have not dropped the phone, but it may have been subjected to some rough handling before it got to me. I have had some friends of mine ,who are optical engineers and have lots of experience with photographic lens systems, look at the prints and it is their conclusion that the lens is tilted with respect to the optic axis because they saw potions of the image field digagonally opposite from the darked area that are much more out of focus then other portions of the image area. In any event, I showed the prints to the tech service people at Verizon and they replace the handset without any discusion. The camera in the replacment phone is providing much higher quality images than the one in my original phone. They also were able to transfer my Contact list to the new phone. There was no charge for this service. |
