ok, i want to get a data cable so i can connect my phone to my computer, but i don't wanna buy the m.o.k...i heard that the vx10 cable works in it's place. is this true? anyways, i just saw the vx10 cable in radio shack for $20 and i dunno if i wanna risk purchasing a worthless wire or even destroying my phone somehow. can someone shed some light on this topic? if i can't use the vx10 cable then what are my other options besides shelling out the $70 dollars for the m.o.k.?

MOK => Mobile Office Kit offered by Verizon. it will allow you to back up your phone book to your computer and to your palm. you will need a different one for the vx6000 and vx4400. the kit will also allow you to connect to the free Quick2Net service which provides you with 14.4kbs modem with your cell phone, or the premium 144kbs NationalAccess (formerly known as 'ExpressNetwork'). Quick2Net takes away minuets. ExpressNetwork varies.

Reman, the back up you make of one phone's phone book can be loaded onto another phone, provided you have the proper cables. if you do not want to buy both cables, you can bring it to your local verizon store, and have them transfer the phoen book from one phone to another at a small fee (usually 5 dollers).

So the the Verizon "MOK" allows names with multiple numbers to be DL from a PC. I would have to have a cable for the 4400 and 6000. Cool! |

I heard that the 1200(???) cable works fine. Besides, why would I want to pre pay pre order a "kit will only cost you $35.00" from an unknown company? Even the registration failed at the web site. $35 is a fair amount for cable and software but $65? Pleazzzze. Additionally, the datapilot stuff is $59 at their site and 49 at most resellers. They also are about to release the 6000 cable. |

the MOK does more then what you are giving it credit for. its really not ment for normal users, but rahter for bussness users who want to connect to NationalAccess [formerly known as 'ExpressNetwork'] and get speeds of 114 kbs. i doubt the other cables can offer you the ablity to connect to NationalAccess...at an extra service fee of course. =p
