Default Noises on the 6000

While connected on calls I hear a hissing noise, like a slow leak in a raft, not a popping as I read in a previous post. I did not hear this on my 4400. Is this common or due to the dual band?
Thanks
PS - Did anyone ever figure the true meaning to the letters on the phones above the keypad?

Default Noises on the 6000

if you have your earpice set to med-low or lower they tend to be more audiable, so if you set to med or high they tend to be less.hopefuly a s/w upgrade will take care of that though i've never heard them on any of my 6000's.

the "letter" is supposed to be a mfg-code.

Default Noises on the 6000

I am within the 15 day worry free, thinking of exchanging it. It does not happen all the time and the reception of the phone is very good. Desicions, decisions.. Do you know the latest software version is?
Thanks

try a different one, i've gone through five of them and haven't had a problem besides just dropping it and scratching it.
