My local store says they don't know how to upgrade my software from version 6. Is this possible or maybe they just don't want the hassle, if it is one. There is not another store for miles and miles. Any suggestions? All the 4400s they have are running Version6, or so they say. Thanks very much.

i was just talking about this problem on another thread, are these guys at Verizon just lazy or what?

not all stores have tech's.
not saying you need a tech to do the software upgrade, but alot of the stores dont have anyone who has been trained or given instructions on how to do it.
our store is one of those.

so its not that they are lazy, it just may be the truth that they dont know how to do it.

thanks for responding. So, what should I do ? My reception is not good and I the phone does not register voice mail, but I can retreive it from a land phone. help !!

you can call cust service and explain the situation to them, and also mentioned about how far the nearest store is to you, maybe they can send a replacement via fed x. worth a try.

that sucks theres about 5 stores within 10 miles alot more farther than that..but im in jersey.

I'm pretty sure the VZW store in Succasunna, NJ has techs...

Don't remember if the VZW store by Willowbrook Mall has techs...

thanks for all the suggestions...but I am stuck in new mexico. I just got back from the verizon store where they told me that they had no idea there was a software upgrade past Version 6 and to check back in a month or two. Can you believe it. But they did give me a new phone which they swore was not a refurb and I'll see what happens. Get this, their "new" phones are all version 6 as well. Hope this one works. They said I was the only person to ever complain about a new 4400...ever. That made me feel good....like I was nuts.
Oh well. Thanks again for everyones help.
