Does anyone get any weird, high pitched sounds sometimes when talking to someone on the phone with their VX6000? I do a lot and it's quite annoying. Gotta love Verizon sometimes..

i've read alot of complaints about that, even though i have never heard them on any of the 6000's i've used, and i've gone through 4 of them.

I have also had the problem with the chimes in the background. My girlfriend also has a LG 6000 and says she hears the same but it only seems to happen when I call other verizon users. Maybe it has something to do with mobile to mobile connections. I asked a verizon service person about it and they had no clue. I hope someone figures this out, its pretty annoying.

Nothing but crystal clear for me too. Maybe it could be your location? Not sure.

I went crazy the first few days that I had my VX6000 because of those high-pitched noises. I posted on here and on HoFo about the problem and someone posted a suggestion: Keep your earpiece volume at medium or higher. Turns out that the noises only happen at low and medium-low volumes. Is it annoying to keep your phone that loud? You bet - medium volume on this sucker is quite loud for my ears. Is medium volume as annoying as those horrible noises? Helllllllll no! Try it out, I think you'll be much happier with the VX6000 once those noises disappear. |

This problem has also been reported on other Forums FWIW has anyone tried forcing their phones to P_rev04 and seeing if the problem goes away. This is a trick we do in rural and poor reception areas and it will in many case improve RF. The phone will also park itself on a lesser used channel in some cases, this tweak iliminates x1 and you hang out with the older CDMA phones. I believe what is happening with the noises is that network data signals are not being rejected by the phone and are getting in on the audio. Give it a try and let me know. Menu, 000000, Force Mode, P_rev04, ok for Verizon customers, Alltel phones have a different security code.

The VX6000 is way loud. My old Nokia 5185 I could never get it high enough.. now I can never get it low enough.... err. The noises are really not that bad- but they are still irritating enough to post it here

On my old Motorola phones, I could hear myself in my earpiece when I talked (basically, what I spoke into the receiver would also come out of the earpiece) This was handy because I could hear what the other side was hearing, just like on a landline phone. I don't get this on my vx6000. Is this normal? Anyone else have this problem?

Does this only happen during a conncted call? Does it sound like a loud squelch or feedback at a concert. I used to get a loud squelch when I owned my motorola but exchanced it and it never happened again. Sometimes I hear a slight pitch noise when searching thru screens, but I am not connected on a call.
