Hi All: I recently purchased the VX 6000 and am very pleased however was very dissappinted to find out that Verizon is lying about the Get Flix program which I was interested in. The program is supposed to be downloaded through Get it Now and is sponsored by Logitech as is STATED ON THE SIDE OF THE VX6000 BOX... So to make this short I went into a store and NO ONE new what I was talking about, not too suprised their. So they put me on the phone with the Data Department. They have no release date available and was told to check every tuesday in GIN as this is when new programs are rolled out. When asking/advising Verizon employees that this is false advertising and they should change the packaging, I was told that LG has total control of the Box and Verizon has no say... Just trying to push the phones, very upsetting... |

I, too, am waiting for GET FLIX. In fact, I ordered the Logitech webcam. Here is what i know so far. $4.99/month It WILL be released. The info that I got when I did some investigating is within a month. But it could change. I plan to have my new webcam on all the time and I can check in on my fish tanks (and the rest of my studio apartment) whenever and wherever I am. A really great peice of technology if you ask me The frame rate is pretty good at a few frames per second and in color. I never seen it myself, just what I was told. |

Hey JamisonBWolsh, Which webcam did you order? Just wondering. Does it rotate 180 degrees or anything like that. I too think it is a great service, with having a kid and all. I could set it up and check on her while my wife and I are out. Great technology! aje |

It is still wrong to advertise a product and then not have it available. The least Verizon should have done was come out with a press release saying it was in testing and will be launched shortly. I am in Retail and commnication/honesty to the customer is imperative. Even on Verizon's website in the GIN section, the VX6000 is listed as one phone available for Get Flix, but it is not! From Logitechs website, the service looks great...I was going to use it for security reasons as I travel alot. Anxiously awaiting the launch! |

thats a bunch of BS that they feed customers to make them feel special and to prep them to take what they really want, their buisness. You should know that, it's all about the money and sucking up, they really don't care in the end if they lose one or two. I'm in retail too and all we do is talk about how retarded, uneducated, and misinformed the typical consumer (in america) is now adays. Just the other day I got a threat to be reported to the company cause I wouldn't sell a product to a b*tch that wanted it at the price per foot of the cheaper per foot larger bulk item. She dumped it all on the ground and stormed off and i just laughted it off, cause her logic was that of a 2 year old. This thing where ppl think the customers always right is getting outa hand, they're wrong or even clueless 9 times outa 10. Another time that comes to mind is back in the day when i worked at a movie theater and this b*tch insited on telling me she knew our popcorn was just microwave popcorn, and got a little nasty after i politely told her that was completely wrong, that we pop it ourselfs before every show. She didn't like it much, and continue to ramble on about how i could say that but "she knows". What really made her mad was when i asked her if the huge popcorn machine covered in oil from the last pop in plan view was "just for show". Guess her own stupidity and inability to see a huge freaking machine in the corner made her mad... anyways nuff with my venting, i don't think verizon meant to miss-inform anyone, and the product is coming out, it just hasn't been released yet. plus it dosn't really say much besides the phone supports it which it does (just a icon on the box), the 3rd party software is whats not out yet, not the hardware, so I imagin thats logitecs responsability... | |

There is NO sound that is recorded...JUST VIDEO! Also, logitech cams cannot pan, some other brands can, but not with logitech. Here is one thing that I dont like about it. Because this new technology is a venture between verizon and Logitech, you can ONLY use webcams made by LOGITECH. I have the most advanced webcam by them, called the Logitech quickcam pro 4000. This Retails at store for 99.99, but you cant get it cheaper at www.amazon.com and www.dell.com |

Not sure where you are coming from TyrantII??? Pricing on a bulk item is alot different than a company putting advertising on a product claiming it can do some function when you buy it and then find out it has not launched. I completely understand there could be technical glitches and that this is up to its partnership with Logitech, but have the sales team in the floors know this so when they sell the product they tell you upfront what you will/will not get! All it would have taken was a fax/email to all its retail locations... Again, Verizon is the one who launched the service and is offering it, not the consumer demanding a cheaper price or picking apart the service when they do not understand the technicalities of it. Clearly the women who came into to your location was ridiculous, but this is a totally different scenerio. You let consumers know when a product will not work with a new technology. The mantra that consumers are always right is BS too, but I am sure Verizon cares very deeply about its customers and there retention rate. It is Very expensive to acquire new customers. That is why the investment world looks at existing customer sales as a metric over all sales. You can be making alot of revenue but if you are bleeding customers, your operating marging will lower...Ok, enough from me... |

Actually, the Logitech service has been available for almost a year now. I used it with the Motorola T720, but have not found it available for the Samsung A530 or LG VX6000. If the app, when it is available for the VX6000, is anything like what I had on the T720, don't waste your time. The picture is not streaming like video. It only updated about every 10 seconds, which does not qualify as a Flix.

What is the point of this thread title? This is all over a little icon on a box? Not all GIN apps are available right away as soon as a phone is launched. The T720 has more GIN apps than any other phone, because it came out first. I didn't start pitching a fit when I got my 4400, a530, or 6000 because I couldn't get everything the T720 has. That's a real petty complaint to say "Verizon lied to it's customers".

1 frame every second? If that is true..that sucks! I got some info from someone who OWNED a 4400 and got 2-3 frames per sesond. Perhaps the 4400 can handle that rate, while the 720 cannot?
