I hit up a VZW store yesterday afternoon and talked to my buddy who works there ... he said that the only place he's even seen the VX6000 was on phonescoop - as far as he knew, the techs in the back hadn't even gotten a demo phone yet. He told me that he expected it to come out mid/late July.

Man, I hope he's wrong ...

The bottom line here is Verizon sucks at getting anything new out. When we finally figure out they will release something the technology is allready a year behind, then we wait another year after the release date for the real release date. I cannot for the life of me understand how it takes them this long to work out all the issues with new handsets. PTT maybe, but with picture messaging??????????? come one!

Okay. Look at where VZW has gone in the last 2 years as far as the network goes. which is what most customers care about. they don't care if their phone can take pic's. Vzw has the largest network out there and the most subscribers!
ps. my VZW guy in Indy says the phone will be out June 30! Cost is ugly! Hopefully we will see a mail in rebate or something.

Patience my friends.

When exactly did Verizon officially announce a "release date" for the VX6000??

We can't really hold Verizon accountable for a purely speculated release date!
