I just realized you can apply it using the star key, I was starting manner mode with the down volume key. This does not work anymore. Regardless using the star does but has anyone else had the problem where the volume key will not do it anymore?

I believe the only ways to put the phone in manner mode is with the * key when opened or by pressing the record (microphone) button for 3 seconds when closed.

The down volume key only puts the phone in vibrate, not manner mode.

Malial is correct. Use the Voice button on the side (near the down volume) to put the phone in a different mode when the flip is closed. Use the star key when the flip is open.
