My phone charges on my desk in my room next to my bed and the green light of the LCD is extremely bright and bugs me at night. Is there any way to turn that off while charging? |

There is no way to turn off the outer LCD while charging (even if you turn off the phone). Put a towel over it or turn it upside down.

do a search? lol No, you cannot turn off the light. If you would like, you can take gagin, and turn it off somehow-people have screwed their phone bad and i dont have instructions, if u find them and cant deal with a sock over it or something, then take the chance.

Nahh, I'm not screwing around with my phones firmware, it's only a few days old. My v60's light would come on but shut off after about a minute when charing and not come back until something happened (finished, ring . . . ) but would shut off again. Hmm maybe I can shove the phone under my monitor. LG makes a great phone but some really stupid decisions on the basics. Such as this LCD issue and the vib+ring thing. Blahh I'll get used to this phone at some point. Sorry about not searching, my usual BB the search feature dosen't work well, so I'm not used to having one . Yours obviously does so I'll use it more. |

It's totally hilarious how much this light bothers!! Before I bought the phone, I read a couple of reviews, where people complained about the outside LCD staying on while you charged the battery. I thought, Gee how stupid, why would anyone care if there's a light on? That's the biggest complaint 'bout the phone? I must have it!! But now I know better I see what the big deal was about. My solution: Since I am still experiencing extreme feeling of loss and abandonment over the theft of my StarTac, I had the bright idea of trying to cover the LCD of the 4400 with the old StarTac holster. (The basic plastic one that comes with phone.) It works like a charm!! It slides right over it with a snug fit. Ahhh, no more green!! The little red status light still shines through the side, but I guess I can't ask for more Yet another tribute to my StarTac!! Ironically, I haven't tried to cover it with the plastic cover that actually came with the 4400...DUH!!

The original holster works just fine...a little light is left on the side, but gives not even the amount of the red/green light the status light. Plus, it still allows the ringer to be heard.

Ooh yes!!! Thanx Pjay. I just had to try it. It's awsome!! Unless you prefer the lone battery method, I suggest everyone cover the phone with its original holster. It covers the lcd AND the status light completely. I'm very excited....and this way all the sock users can finally match!!

Hmmmm...really? ....I'm always afraid to mess around too much though. Do you think this will somehow affect the phone? Like maybe mess with battery life in the long run? I think I might stick with the covering up method....

I thought Vyruz WAS talking about a desktop charger? ...but he was suggesting that we buy the one for the VX-10 and use it to charge our VX-4400? That's where my question comes in, using a charger that isn't designed for the VX-4400, is that risky? |

Aha!! DUH!! ....yeah, I haven't bought a car charger yet, I guess I should in the future. When I forget to charge the battery a couple of times, I'll probably see the need. I usually wait a while just because I'm lazy. Do you think there's ANY chance in hell that LG (or some generic company) will make faceplates for the 4400? I don't think any LG phone has interchangeable face plates, right!!!! I would really like to spend a ridiculous amount of money on faceplates, flashing antenas, flashing batteries, etc. Everyone else can do it!! ....that and I've never had phone that I could play dress-up with. I feel deprived!! |

Don't expect to ever see faceplates for the 4400...it just wouldn't work too well. The phone is not designed for them. As for flashing batteries and antennas and the like, you won't get those to work with any CDMA provider (Sprint, Verizon, Alltel, etc) because they operate on a frequency only used my TDMA and GSM (Cingular, ATT, T-Mobile) phones from what I understand.

The phone isn't that ugly is it? I kinda think it looks good the way it is. I do understand the desire to personalize and make it unique though.

I just went to the LG website, and it indicates the travel charger will fully charge a battery in 5 hours, the desktop charger in 3
