There's a way to set the left arrow key (the one with a heart on it) to a function of your choice: go to menu - 8 (Settings) - 5 (Features) - 1 (Shortcut), then follow the on-screen instructions for choosing a function to assign to the shortcut key. If you choose Organizer, you will have to specify either the Schedule, the Alarm Clock, or the Notepad (I think). I set mine to Schedule. I don't think there's any way to change the other quick keys without hacking into the phone, so you'll have to choose your favorite wisely. |

Just hit the right soft key (it says "search" right above it) on the main idle screen and you are taken right to your address book.

From standby mode, if you press the right soft key, the one labeled Search on the screen (opposite from Menu) you will get to your phonebbok in just one touch Hope that helps!!

Well, egg on my face for totally misreading the question. Anthromatt is right: just press the right menu key. But if you want to customize another function, then 8-5-1 is good stuff.

Biter!!! I have mine set to the same thing!! But getting back to this reprograming keys for shortcuts....I was hoping that this phone would have as many shortcuts as the v60i. I REALLY liked that about the little phone. That and the fact that you could reorder the Menu. Best 2 features ever!! I thought maybe all the new ones had this shortcut and Menu thing. It seems quite logical. I had the Moto flying within two days, but it has like 99? shortcuts. What's up with LG, man? One shortcut? I haven't tried Bitpim because I am a wuzz and I'm afraid that something is gonna get fried, but I defenitely agree that it would only make sense for us be able to reassign the functions of the 4 arrows keys, DUH!!! Does Bitpim do this? Does anyone know how to do it without Bitpim?

Some people (not me) would argue you need so many shortcuts on the Moto menu because their menus are terrible to begin with. I agree though, I like the way you could reorder things...loved that about my good ol' Timeport 270c. As for BitPim, I wouldn't worry too much. That program makes it very easy. Removing the Verizon Banner is still a bit tricky, but putting your own ringers and pics on the phone is cake. If you can find the data cable I highly recommend it. BitPim is the only thing that will keep me from selling this phone on eBay. And as far as reassigning the keys, I am sure it can be done with BitPim, but I am not nearly brave enough to attempt that!!

I've got mine set to quickly access the wallpaper menu so I can change it easily when I want. It's nice to be able to change it with a quick press of a button. | |
