difference between 04 and 05

did anyone actually get the update from the 04 to the 05? and does anyone how the 05 improves the phone? i was just wondering before i went and got mine done, if it was acutally worth it or it didn't matter if i waited for a while

I got the update last week and I have yet to notice anything different about the phone whatsoever. I use my phone all the time, too.

I use GAGAIN, have added wallpapers and ringers, extended the life of several demo GIN apps and use a public gateway for WAP. All this "evil" stuff still works fine. Express network Internet access is no different. The mini-browser is not updated. I don't text message or use the phone as a PDA, so I'm not sure if any fixes were made there. It probably just fixes a few minor bugs here and there.

Keep in mind that it takes about 40 minutes for the Verizon monkeys to update your phone. The store I went to could only flash one phone at a time, so I had to wait even longer.

Personally I have noticed a difference with the speaker.

Previewing ringers with modtone does not sound distorted anymore.
That's about the biggest improvement I've seen.

The question of wheter to update or not is a little silly in my opinion. A newer version of any software always means that there's been some improvement, however small.

Do it when you have the time.
