Are the java games that you see on all these sites written with the same code that is used for our whole 8 games we get to choose from GIN? If so, theoretically, if you were able to get a hard copy of the game on your computer AND found where the vx4400 stores the downloaded games in its directory, then, with the right information, couldnt you upload any of these games into the phone and not have to be limited to what GIN offers?

No. The 4400 is a BREW device, which is different from the J2ME devices. You'll probably not see any free BREW applications because of the license for the development kit. It restricts you from distributing your application outside of the official channels. There is a bridge that is in development to port J2ME applications to BREW, but as far as I know it isn't functional yet... and again, probably will not open up any free apps because it will still be under the BREW SDK. |
