The software with the package *I think* is the SnapSync software.. the software we're talking about for the phone to download is either Gagin or just the prolific drivers so Gagin can be used... |

Uh, they gave you no "deal". You can buy the cable at any Radio Shack without software. I did just that and paid $20. The salesman said "you wont be able to use it without the software", as he really pushed for me to spend $20 for some software. I just laughed.

You should definitely be able to get the cable separately. I got mine from the Radio Shack on Broadway next to Bowling Green (don't remember the address, it's between Citibank and the post office just outside the subway station). Just walked in, asked someone at the counter for the data cable that works with the Verizon LG phones, and they led me right to it.

If worse comes to worse, just call 1-800-THE-SHACK and order it by phone, that is what I did.

I just went to the rack where they had the cables, picked up the one for our phone, brought it to the register and payed for it. If the salesperson had said something about needing to buy the software with the cable, I was going to tell her that I'd already bought both and my dog chewed the cable, but she didn't question the purchase at all. |
