Just saw the Slider on the paper for $29.99 after a $50 rebate, pretty good price imo.

yeah, the Sly is a solid little phone, i really enjoyed it when i had it, wouldn't mind getting my hands on a tri-mode version the SE44..

Is it me, or is VZW trying sto sell off alot of last years and this years cooler phones. Maybee they are making room for some new ones?

I agree, but it amazes me that everytime I walk into a store, people who aren't cellphone literate (the casual user who doesn't care about what we discuss) always are carrying the T720 or T730....Feast on the uniformed and leave the good stuff for us...just kidding maybe with the delay with the slider verizon has some newer models sitting on shelves?

I went to the alltel website (www.alltel.com) and looked under "businesss solutions". I then called their toll free number (1-866-ALLTEL7) and asked for the local business rep. They told me who it was and gave me his phone number.

I told him what we were looking for and about our existing plan, and he put together a great package for us. I would be happy to email you the details of what they did for us.

The slider is a good little phone, but kyocera could have done better with the paint job. The paint in the top of my slider is peeling off. Other than that, good little phone. I just needed a good camera and thats why i had to ditch it.

I'm still pretty new to the coverage side of things. Does Alltel have pretty much the same coverage map as VZW? I just looked at their "National Freedom" map and it looks almost the exact same as my "America's Choice" map with VZW. I'm due to end my contract with VZW soon and there's an Alltel store about 35-40 miles away from my home. With the SE44 being available and if the coverage is the same, I may just drift over to them. I could handle the drive in order to get the phone.

Did you receive the email I sent you regarding the package Alltel put together for our business?

I found their coverage to be basically the same as VZW, but considering they gave us a "business plan" that was so much better than they advertised and my wife's experience with Alltel, we decided to go with them. My wife has been with them for over 5 years and has been very pleased. They actually sent her a new phone in the mail a couple of years ago with a "thanks for being a good customer" note with it. The local business rep with them also came highly recommended.

Mike, yes, I did receive the email and thanks so much for the quick response. That is a great plan. I went to our local Alltel store and got the name and number of our local rep and will contact him to see if he can do something for us. Since we just signed a new contract about two weeks ago so he might not be able to. We're also on the new TF plan.
