I'm looking for the service menu to edit wap settings and lots more stuff, but I can't find anything online. Anyone know a good place to look?

I know on some previous Kyoceras that you had to hit 111111 (6 1s) as if you were dialing a number, then an extra menu option would appear. Just a thought.

Just purchased my KX2 yesterday. While I haven't yet been able to get FreeWAP to work, I did find out how to access the service/programming menu. I'd suggest you checkout the guide posted: 'http://www.cartron.com/kyo_kx2.pdf' under the 'Helpful Hints' section. It explains how to gain access to the menu and explore around. From my playing though, it would appear as if Verizon has invaded/taken over the phone and doesn't like anyone to change anything :-) While most Service Menus mention a 'WAP Gateway' a 'DNS IP' address is mentioned in the Service Menus. I'm wondering if it means the same thing or not. In any case, I haven't been able to change the default homepage either--so even if I did get it to work, I don't think I'd be able to get out. In any case, check-out the link above for a guide on how to do stuff and let us know if you have any luck :-) |

Programming codes like that are generally always a series of 0 for whatever length. So, in the case of the KX2, throw in six zeros for the service/programming code :-)

You CAN re-route your phone's WAP traffic through a proxy server other than the one(s) your provider maintains.

any idea about that ip address for the wap server? ive tried as well to change things through kwpst. there is a "web link A main" that you can enter an ip address into as well as port under neath it but i cant get my homepage to come up it keeps telling me ive got it misconfigured or something. should i still be using the same dns server? also any idea what "server A primary URL" is? you got me. im gonna try a few diffrent websites just to check.

when i say phone line i mean that you make the call from your wireless phone. so your going to get charged minutes. what do you mean "MOU wap access"? at any rate, so you just direct you phone to your "wap gateway" and do you have a static IP for the gateway?

Yes, I have a static IP address for my gateway. To use wap on my phone, I don't place a call. The phone does "call" #777 for a data connection behind the scenes just the same as using it as a modem.
