Kyocera slider se47 setup/use

I'm looking into buying a Kyocera slider se47 phone from eBay to replace my current cell phone. My current provider is Verizon Wireless, and the phone I plan to buy is also a Verizon Wireless phone which was previously used by the seller.

My question is, how do I go about switching phones? Is there an activation fee for the phone or any other fees? What steps do I need to take once I have the phone?
