Question Kyocera 3245 Debug Menu Code? (Bell Mobility)

Hey Folks,

Been looking for HOURS for the 6 digit code to access the debug menu for the receive signal strength. I already have the master subsidy lock code (this phone is not subsidised) but don't have the debug security code needed to access the signal strength indicator so that I may re-orient my Yagi antenna after a recent storm. Last time I had to do it I had another phone that was easy to set for field test mode.

I have tried 000000, 111111, 040793, 686666, DOCTOR and several others to no avail.

Frankly I find it silly why some providers make it so hard to get access to these simple but so essential phone features. If you have any ideas, I'd really appreciate your input. I'd like to avoid having to buy an old unlocked phone on ebay simply to use a signal strength meter!

Default Re: Kyocera 3245 Debug Menu Code? (Bell Mobility)

For those who have a locked FSC (Debug Code), I have found a way to access it, using the Kyocera Phone Service Tool

You need the Kyocera cable (which can be purchased from Kyocera or even found on ebay) and drivers. Mine came with the Phone Desktop so that's what I've been using.

Problem Solved!

As for the signal strength: where I live the Tx power is dB is around -105 in the only area in the house where I get any service indication on the phone.
It goes down -85 to -90 with my Yagi and amplifier (1-2 bars)
Without the amplifier but directly connected to the Yagi, I get around -95, whcih is already quiet good (about 1 bar)!
Oustide with the extended antenna, I get around -100 (no bars)

These figures jump around by as much as +/-5 every few seconds. It's the hills, I guess.

Next I'll be trying a parabollic antenna (I have an old satellite dish that I could use to convert for that).

I love the 3245, as it can maintain a conversation even if the signal is at -100 Of course, battery life is very short under these conditions (less than a day standby)

That's all for now, Folks
