Some questions came up on the tri-mode Slider, it's called the SE44, it was only released in So. America though, here's some info on that. SE44 Tri-Mode Slider

Tony, wouldn't the SE44 be considered the older model? I ask because it was the first one I've ever seen and the model number is smaller.

Even if it was an older model, it has the same features and it's tri-mode and comes in a blue version, i would go with it anyday, wouldn't you?

You could do that, but since the cost from Kyocera is so high, without a contract it would be $249.95. They may or may not give you the SPC.

CellularONE (Western Wireless) is selling the blue Kyocera SE-44 "Slider" for $99.99 on a 24 month contract new activation. There is, however a $35 activation fee when activating a new line. Kyocera SE-44 "Slider" for CellularONE (WWC)

Tony, you know I would! I'd get that phone IMMEDIATELY if not sooner if Verizon offered it. Reading all the encouraging words from everyone after your post lets me know that the "blue one" should be on its way to Verizon very very soon.

I've used the SE44 for a couple months now and seems to work well. The only thing I don't care for is the fact that their sync software(KPD) doesn't sync with outlook.

Ok, I decided to call Verizon to see if they would be carrying the SE44 anytime soon. After a 2 hour wait for a rep to get on the phone, yes, it took that long. Good thing I have speaker phone and I have call waiting which enabled meto take another call for 1/2 hour while waiting for Verizon to pick up! When I finally did get the rep on the phone I asked him if Verizon would be selling the tri-mode SE44 and he said, "Well, not at this time. If you call back in three to four weeks or even go on line, you will see our update and by then it will possibily be in the system for purchase." I had to ask to clarify, "Does this mean that Verizon will definately be selling this model?" He hesitated and was silent for a moment and came back with, "Well, uh, just call back in four weeks and by then everything will be official. If it'll be for sale we'll have it on the web site also so check there too." I got off the phone with that idiot. Ok, ah, so - this is the typical Verizon response. I'm used to it. This unfortunately doesn't give me the answer I want either way. I don't know weather to think that they will have it and this moron doesn't want to and or can't devulge such a truth, or he just doesn't know at all. So....I called my full service Verizon store that I always go to. And got a clear answer, albeit, not the one I wanted, from my man Manny V. He told me that Verizon always has something in the works and they may be working on getting that version in as we speak. He told me that the entire network is going to change to digital so there is a possibility that they may not even get this phone from Kyocera. He told me to check back with him in a week or two. So, that was my hunt for this phone, that is the best I could do. |
