Default Kyocera 7135 ETA

Can anyone shed any light on the Expected Time of Arrival for the Kyocera 7135? I need to switch carriers on at least one of my phones by year end, and the availability of this phone could sway my choice of carrier.

Many still believe we may see it before Christmas, but there are beginning to be more and more "sources" saying that it may be January before it hits stores...

Most of the responses you will get here will probably be guesses! Kyocera does have an 800# and you may get a more thorough answer by calling them directly...........then rush back here and tell us what they said

I talked with Kycera Wireless America about mid-November. The lady that I talked to expected delivery of the 7135 early in Q4 2002. Somehow I find that less than spectacularly useful

Let me assure you that most of the responses you will get from them will be guesses as well...

In reality, the most definitive source for the Kyocera 7135 would probably be smartphonesource.com.

I've always found the information there to be as reliable as possible...

Malial, I clicked on your link and it says there on smartphones webpage "OK, here's the scoop...We're going to play a little guessing game..... For a $5 donation to the site, you can submit a guess as to which day and time the 7135 will be officially released. The winner will receive a brand new Kyocera 7135 Smartphone!"

It also says, "7135 Release Information....

Go HERE Release Date to see what the latest rumors are and to voice your opinion about them!

Go HERE Rumors Only to see the same rumors but without the commentary and opinions. This is the no-nonsense info only thread.

So wouldnt it be fair to say that until Kyocera has an official release date, the rest of the world is just guessing?

Default Kyocera 7135 ETA

I just talked to one of the nice young fellas at Kyocera. I told him that I needed to change one of my present phones, that I wanted the 7135, but that I needed to change by the end of the year. He asked if I could wait three weeks or so. When I told him that I could wait that long, he said that Verizon should be able to deliver the 7135 by then.

Granted that we are working from one person's opinion on availability, but considering that he works for Kyocera and is impatiently waiting for a 7135, I'd say that I'd consider that a well informed opinion!

Of course they are just guesses...I never said they knew the release date, but being a frequenter of that site, I know that the information that gets posted there (by certain posters...it is a rumor mill just like everywhere else) tends to be extremely reliable (hence why I said as reliable as possible).

It has come to fruition more than once that release dates getting postponed were "predicted" on there before Kyocera officially acknowledges it. There are people that frequent that board that are beta testers, as well as people who have very reliable sources inside Kyocera as well as Verizon.

If you are looking for rumors that are as reliable as possible, then that website is your best bet.

p.s.
Kyocera's "official" release is now Q1 2003. (which has been predicted on smartphonesource.com for quite some time now).

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of the 7135 and was anticipating a 4th quarter release.

However, the 4th quarter is nearing an end and the prospects of seeing the phone before Christmas appear to be getting slimmer.

I was hoping that you may be able to shed some light on the projected release of the phone.

The 7135 has been my first choice for my Smartphone upgrade, however, as the months have gone by it's getting harder and harder to resist exploring the other options (i.e. Treo).

Please give me some hope that the phone will be released soon!

Thanks for your help.
