Default buying SE47 off eBay

I've bought a phone off eBay before, and just bought a new Slider this week. I'm wondering if an issue were to arise with the phone that would require me to take it into the store and have it reach the point where I would need a replacement, would they replace my phone, despite me having bought it off eBay? Thanks in advance!

unless you tell them you bought it there you shouldn't have a problem, i bought phones from other parties in the past and when i 've had problems with it i will get it replaced at a Verizon store, so just say you bought at Verizon but lost your receipt, if it needs to get replace you would get a refurbished though, but it's just as good as new, if not better.

I bought a Virgin Mobile Slider and unlocked it to use on my Verizon account. Don't think Verizon would take it back.

Most likely you will not get a replacement unless you have the insurance or could somehow prove that you bought it from a verizon store. What they'll do is charge you for a refurbished phone and give you a $100. credit off your next purchase with a 2 year upgrade.

Go with Tony E's advice, tell them you bought it there. Can't hurt to try.

How much does a refurbished phone go for in comparison to a brand new phone of the same model (e.g., half the price--$250 new, $125 refurb.)?

Definitely not, if it's a Virgin Mobile version it would be very obvious.
It only applies if you buy a Slider from E-Bay but it's a Verizon version, then yes you can get it replaced at the Verizon store for a refurbished since you won't have a receipt and you will definitely NOT SAY that you bought it from E-Bay.

Wonder if Verizon has their own ebay store? Just like Motorola and Dell.

Welcome aboard Medic825, try these settings:

If it's a Virgin Moblie phone follow these steps:
Log onto verizonwireless.com and enter in the new ESN

111111 [OK]

Programming [OK]
Enter Secuirity Code: 868666 [OK]

Srvc Sec. Code [OK]
change 868666 --> 000000 [OK]
[BACK]

Verizon needs it to be 000000 so that you can do Over The Air programming and PRL update. Remember to use 000000 and not 868666 as the SVC code next time you go back into this programming screen.

(NAM2 is used by Verizon, might need to enter the following info for NAM1 also):

NAM2 Info [OK]
MIN [OK]
[BACK 10 times to delete] 0000000658 --> 10-digits phone num [OK]
check MDN, should be the same
Home SID [OK]
find out your home SID from http://www.bridog.net/cellular/sid.txt
drop the leading 0's, ie 00030 -> 30
Extra NAM Info [OK]
CDMA NAM Info [OK]
Home SID/NID [OK]
enter in the same SID as above for both SID and NID

exit programming screen, press hang up

now dial *22801 option 1 to activate with verizon, it'll also update the PRL

now verify your PRL
##786 [TALK]

Verizon's PRL should show 42xxx, 50xxx, or 52xxx

Sprint PRL is 10xxx
