I dont know if this has been posted and I alredy partly chekced. Anyway, TonyE or anyone who ownes the slider or owned it, would you guys reccomend this phone. I heard that after a while the slid gets loose and that it has a little worse reception than the VX6000. The reception dosent realy matter because I get great service everywhere in my area. The concern I have is the slide. Is it durable enough to stand for a year or two? Anywho I'll have insurance on it anyway. Im doing the switch thing with my mother when she sings up I'll give her my phone which she wants because her Nokia 3595 is notihng special and I would buy the phone at the store with her and was looking at a lot of phones and this is one of them so anyone wana reccomend or set me straight on the slide part.

The slide mechanism does seem a little loose after 2 weeks of use. I think that is to be expected of a part that is continually being manipulated. I would expect some loosening to occur. As far as reception I haven't had any problems with it. I have to say that the speakerphone is awesome and also the voice dialing, where you can actually dictate a phone number for it to call. Now that is a cool feature. The phone is just plain cool!

I agree with Matrix, i love that phone, there were some spots where i would lose signal but then again i also did with my 6K, the only reason why i returned it is because work is paying for my Sprint account, so i wasn't going to be using my Verizon account that much so i'm letting moms to use it, but she just likes an easy to use phone like the v60i so i returned the Sly, with Verizon's phone offerings right now i would go with the Slider or the LG 4500 ( that is of course 'til the Moto 710 comes out) The sliding mechanism does have a bit of play after a few weeks but nothing that's so severe that it will come off, it would take some force to take that sliding door off and even if it did, i would just go and get the phone swapped. I also like the voice dialing and speakerphone, which is better than my VM4500. Go for it, you'll like it.
