Please help. Activation KX414 us cellular.

can anyone help me out? I have a new phone. it has not been activated. brand new. nice phone really. but i need to activate it, and I dont want to go to us cellular people. they charge 15 bucks to program it to receive calls. i can do this.. ive done it before. do you know the procedure for this phone and service? once i activate it, ill call us cellular, or vice versa.

Well Folks. I found it out. ill share with you.

press 111111, then "ok"
brings you to a menu, choose "programming"
sercurity code for an activated phone "000000" however, unactivated phones will not need this.
choose "NAM 1"
type your phone number, and the network system id, us cellular is 1317

then call your provider and have them change your service to the new network (digital to cdma, or whatever) and change to your new esn, if you already have service. Otherwise, you'll have to go to an agent. A person cannot sign up by themselves.

Run a test call. call yourself from a landline phone, verify your phone rings. Then type *228 and hit "send" which will save the network preferences for your network in your phone. Once this is done, you cant change those preferences, so make sure you do it right. or bring the damn thing to an agent after you screw it up.
