The answer to my own question would be NO! The data cable for the Slider is different. Now, has anyone used the data cable with the slider to import ringers and wallpapers? I have been reading on the Howard Forums that some people figured out a way using various freeware programs ways to import ringers and wallpaper onto the slider via the data cable. The phone mentioned was the VM version, but I would think that there would not be a difference with the Verizon version. Has anybody had success doing this?
Matrix, can your turn your "Private Message" option on.

From Howard Forums:

"As to cratos response i was always told that if you call your voicemail number it was the same as calling a another verizon phone and it would use mobile to mobile minutes where *86 used anytime minutes. To confirm this i just call customer service and they said that about a month ago they changed this ( around 2/1/04). Both *86 and calling your own phone number will come from your anytime minutes. Before they made the change calling your cell number did use mobile to mobileminutes. I am guessing that they figured that people call their voicemail alot and this would be a way to waste minutes which might cause people to get more expensive plans."

So basically we get screwed either way. Dont you just love VZN?
