Hi: Please help me if you can. I need a new phone. I think the slide phone by Kyocera is cool. Can you guys tell me the good and bad about the phone? I am ready to go ahead and get this thing now. I currently have a Motorola T720 and I need an upgrade bad. This Kyocera seems great. Please help my decision. I don't think Verizon has any another phone that could be better. Thanks ~~BEAT~~ |

I have never used the phone myself but f various user reviews I have read say the phone has a tendency to get hot after talking on it for relatively short periods of time. Other then that the phone sounds good

The thing with this phone is that I see a lot of threads about this phone, but most aren't talking about negativity so from most other people I assume this phone is good for Verizon. I tried it for MetroPCS and I really liked the phone. Might want to pick me up one of these.

I thought about getting one also, but I thought the keypad was a little too small for my hands. Good luck with the phone Last edited by DarkKnight; 05-05-2004 at 10:30 PM. Reason: spelling error |

We got 2 SE47s over the past two weeks and so far are very happy with their reception, useability, etc. I don't particularly like flip phones since I have a tendency to flip them off of strange places like fishing piers, etc. so the slider is a good option for a compact sized phone. The SE47 carries well, the screen is very readable, and the sliding function works easily with one hand. Reception, battery life, speaker functionality are all above my initial expectations and set-up is quite intuitive. My one concern is the lack of tri-mode. I will be traveling through rurual NC and around the NC Coast this weekend and that will tell me more about whether or not I am personally ready for the all digital world. Hope this helps. Brad |

Thank you everyone for all this great information!! I decided that I will get this phone with Verizon. There are things I don't like about it, but I'm sure it will work better than my T720! The only thing I wish is that Verizon offered this phone in the original blue I saw some time ago. I can't get this phone in that blue to save my life. Verizon said they only have it in the silver. I'm sick of silver phones. *ack!* Anyway, thanks for the info and if anyone has any information on where to get this phone in blue or any other funky color post it here!! Thanks again! ~~BEAT~~ |

Tony! Thanks for that link. It definately was very helpful. I notice that your phones are all retired. Which phone are you planning on buying now? Which service do you plan to use? I notice you have Sprint and Verizon. Thanks again for that link. When I get my slider I can refer back to it. I do appreciate it. ~~BEAT~~ | |

Actually the ones that are retired are only the LG 4400, Sanyo 8100, and the Kyo-Slider... right now i mainly used my Sprint service using the Sanyo vm4500 since work pays for the bill, i still used my Verizon phones also. for now i'm waiting on the Motorola v710, hope it's not a disappointment...

I just upgraded to the slider and I really like it. It has a lot of cool features and seems like a great deal for anyone looking for something more than just the basics ... color screen, downloadable ring tones, no contract with my Virgin Mobile account, etc.
