A few days ago I purchased a Kyocera 3035 along with a renewed 2 yr. contract with Verison through In Touch Communications. I use a cell phone mainly for emergencies and important calls while away from home. After purchasing this phone I did some online research on the reviews for it and discovered that this model has problems with it shutting off while in a call and some other problems. I've not used mine much and have not experienced any problems so far, but am wondering if I've made a bad purchase choice. I believe I have 15 days from date of purchase to return/exchange phone if there are any problems with it. I really should have researched more before making the purchase. I'm not sure if I should hold onto the phone and hope for the best or exchange it for something different. Besides Kyoceras, In Touch Communications sells Motorolas (V60i), (V120c), (T720), and an Audiovox model. Are these brands better than Kyoceras? Thanks, Laurie |

Yes, send that phone back...I had it for a few weeks, the screen went blank, got it exchanged and the same thing happened again. You also may want to consider switching to a 1 year contract instead of a 2 year deal. If you stick with the 2 year deal spend more money on a nicer phone because you will have to live with the phone for 22 months before you can upgrade, as opposed to 10 months with a 1 year contract. Since you don't say which Audiovox they sell, I recommend the v60i. It is a great phone and you won't be disappointed, especially if you sign a 2 year contract.

Thanks for the quick reply. Would In Touch Communications allow me to return the phone and get the Motorola or will they insist on exchanging my Kyocera for another Kyocera of the same model? Do I have to prove there is something wrong with it or can I simply say I've heard bad things about this particular model and don't want the headaches of bringing it back or paying repair bills? Where do I go from here? Thanks. Laurie |

I have no idea how that specific Authorized Agent works, as they are all different. Had you purchased the phone direct from Verizon it would be no problem to exchange for a different model in the first 15 days. In Touch may have a different policy. Their policy should be stated on the receipt or on some other paperwork that was given to you when you made the purchase. If they refuse to do an exchange, you *should* be able to cancel your contract renewal directly through Verizon since you did it less than 15 days ago. If there is a Verizon store near you, I would go through them instead if you have to cancel your contract extension. I don't know how, if at all, that would work (cancelling your extention) though. Either way, good luck!

Okay It's day 15 what did you do Laurie??? I carried the 3035 for along time, the only time they would power off during a call would be if the battery did not fit on correctly. And occasionally the phone would not give as good coverage as some other models, but it was still a pretty good phone.

I never had the phone power off either...the LCD just stopped working on each of the two phones i had...I could still make calls, I just couldn't see the numbers i was pushing. Also made my WAP access pretty worthless!

I did replace mine on several occasions, but It's been awhile ago I cannot remember why....I do still have the car kit installed in one of my vehicles and the really cool desktop phone handset charger...I guess I should list that stuff on ebay sometime.

I used the qcp 3035 for about a year and really have no complaints or problems, it was a good reliable phone that got some good strong signal.
