Go to the site listed below and download the file. After you have downloaded it, change the "setup.ex" to "setup.exe" and run it. Then update the software with the download from Kyocera's site. http://mywebpages.comcast.net/jloy/setup.ex Good luck. |

To answer two questions at once: You do need a data cable for your Kyocera. You can find one on ebay for a VERY reasonable price(www.ebay.com). In the search box type (with quotation marks) "Kyocera data cable." As far as the software update, it is on the same site as the usb driver. The address is: http://www.kyocera-wireless.com/downloads/downloads.htm You will see the download below the USB and Modem drivers under "Kyocera Phone Desktop Updater."<u>Text</u> |

I have Kyocera 2255 and some problems with detecting incoming calls - they are not detecting (phone says "unavailable"). Can this problem be solved with kyocera desktop software? I will be very grateful for anyone who can send to it to me: vav_ua@mail.zp.ua.

Lots of people asking for the Kyocera Desktop software. So I might as well request it also, if anyone's still doing that. Send to falcity@yahoo.com Thanks in advance. Couple of other questions. I've been using my old 2135 and serial cable occasionally to connect to my notebook at 14.4 kps. Now am thinking of getting either the 2325 or KX414 model to use with Verizon's Express Network for a faster connection. 1) Does this serial cable work with either of those two phones--am guessing it fits the 2325 but that the 414 takes something different and only a USB cable? 2) Any recommendations re: which of those two phones is a better bet? |

Not to be a leach, but I just got a data cable from ebay and was duped into thinking it had the software. All I want is a couple of ringtones for my phone and it is ridiculously difficult to accomplish and I'm sure not gonna pay $50 bucks for a couple of ringtones. If anyone could help me out with software I sure would appreciate it. my email is psmith@ag.state.wv.us thanks a lot. I am also wanting the WVU fightsong for a ringtone. I have found it in midi form and so I downloaded a free trial of a ringtone converter to try to convert it. For some reason my pc won't playback anything through this program and so I am having unneeded difficulty in making this ringtone. Any advice? |

If all you want is to copy ringers, you're better off using bitpim or gagin. The desktop software doesn't support half the features of this phone anyways. It will only allow to upload .kws ringers, while the other 2 applications will allow you to copy .mid files for sure and maybe .mp3, not sure, haven't actually tried. Dan |

Does the desktop software read and save all phonebook entries, assigned ringers, assigned notes, assigned URL's. Assigned quick text entries, etc ???? I guess my question is... if I read my slider and then wanted to download the data into a "new" slider, what would the software not have kept that will cause me to have to manually re-enter on the new phone? thanks |

1. The software lets you upload/download contacts, but not the new ringers/images that can be assigned to them. 2. The software lets you upload/download kws ringers. 3. The software allows you to view/monitor the screen of the phone. Plus, you can use the keyboard to navigate the menu. oohh. pretty useless. That's it. So be prepared to be disappointed if you drop 5-10 bucks on this worthless stuff. I've already requested updates to allow synching contact ringers/images, .mid ringers, and background/screensaver images, but I doubt they've ever add that functionality. Plus, the "outlook integration" is a joke! You have to drag from certain views in outlook. It would be nice to sync contact folders in outlook directly to the phone. Now that would be integration! Outlook even supports user defined fields that could hold the new ringer/image information. If I knew how to manipulate the phone, I could write the code to do it, but right now, I could only deal with the outlook side. Dan |

I downloaded bitpim, but apparently it doesn't recognize my data cable connection. Do you have to have a USB cable? My cable is not USB. Does gagin work with my cable? Bear with me, I'm a little slow on this thing.
