Default Kyocera "mobile Phone Tools" IMHO = garbage

The Kyocera "mobile PhoneTools" software that I bought for my KX1 (SoHo) is the worst piece of software I've ever tried to use. After downloading the drivers from the Kyocera website and installing (and uninstalling and reinstalling over and over again) the software, it has been nothing but frustration. Can't find a detailed users guide, no decent troubleshooting reference. Sometimes it can read my phone's phonebook, sometimes it can't. Sometimes I get a tone that the computer recognizes hardware added when I plug in the phone through the USB port, sometimes it doesn't happen. Make one modification to an address in the computer, put it on the phone, and it screws up my "Frequent Caller" list. If I have an entry like Joe & Mary Smith, it lists it as (first name) 'Joe', (last name) '& Mary Smith', so rather than listed under 'J' or 'S', it is listed at the top under '&'. From the computer, I can't enter an event into the scheduler for more than 30 minutes. And if the event is scheduled for 1 p.m., it lists two 1 pms on that day. Use the software for a day or so and an automatic update (6M) comes along and screws it up all over again.

One would do better just to manually enter info into the phonebook and scheduler via the phone's keypad, and avoid this software.

Default Re: Kyocera "mobile Phone Tools" IMHO = garbage

Is there anyway I could try the program to see if it's just bad database connections?
